Edinburgh
Edinburgh is the capital city of Scotland. It is also one of its 32 council areas. It is located in the southeast part of Scotland and has a population of 506'520 (2020). The wider metropolitan area had a population of 912'490 in the same year.
The city is also called Aulid Reekie, which means Old Smoky in scottish. This name was given because of the smoke-covered Old Town, which is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
