Infomaniak is a swiss company, located in geneva, offering it services, located in switzerland. They are focussed around privacy and economics. They use renewable energy where possible, they have a CO2 emissions offset of 200% and they encourage soft mobility with a bonus of up to CHF 1'500/year. [1]
History
The company was founded in 1990 and started as a user group. A user group is a club focused on the use of computers. Back then, it offered a bbs to its members. In 1994 the company opened a computer store in a suburb of geneva. Their main product was custom pc's that were at the lower end of the price spectrum.
The same year, they purchased a modem and a DSL, thus making them the first privately owned ISP. For a few months in 1995, they offered free internet access to all customers who purchased a computer from their store.
In 1997, they became a real ISP with the creation of TWS Infomaniak SA. The company offered low-cost internet access and web-hosting service additionally to the previous products.
In 1999 the company TWS Infomaniak SA was renamed into Infomaniak Network. They also changed their main focus to web-hosting for private persons and small and medium-sized enterprises.
In 2007 they started to be more engaged in economics and the future of the world. They started donating 1% of their annual revenue to various NGOs.

kSuite
kSuite is an alternative to microsoft office 365, offering various tools to collaborate and communicate effectively. [2] The service consists of the following tools:
- Mail: a privacy-respecting mail service
- kDrive: A cloud file storage
- kChat: A chat service
- kMeet: A privacy-respecting video-converencing solution
kSuite also offers collaborative editing capabilities for Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents with OnlyOffice
A big marketing point is, that all of those services are hosted in switzerland, thus complying with the GDPR (DSGVO), as well as the FADP (revDSG). The suite is used by various notable companies, such as WWF, Migros and Coop.
The tools offer various apps that are available on all major platforms, including Windows, MacOS, Linux, Android and iOS.
Domain registrar
Infomaniak also is a domain registrar, thus providing its users the capability to register new domains for themselfs. Additionally to the domain, they offer one free email account, as well as one static web page to the domain purchase. The domains can easily be integrated with other Infomaniak services such as kSuite. [3] An email newsletter service is also available. [4]
